ABOUT THE ORGANISATION
EREA Flexible Schools Ltd currently educates over 2,500 young people in 21 Flexible Learning Schools (12 based in Queensland and 9 other schools across Australia) and two Special Education Services Schools in Sydney. Flexi schools serve young people who experience complex educational, social or psychological situations which demand unique responses. They enable young people to engage in education in a supported learning environment through a methodology based on trauma informed practice, to co-create a Common Ground using Operation by Principles, in which the principles of Honesty, Respect, Participation, Safe & Legal are embedded.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Education Support Officer - Curriculum reports to the Head of Campus/Area Principal and/or Delegate, and is responsible to the Area Principal, SA EREA Flexible Schools Ltd. He/she has delegated responsibility to support and maintain learning and social inclusion responses of the site. This includes but not limited to:
- Assisting Teachers with the delivery of effective learning and teaching programs for young people in both middle and senior phases of secondary education.
- Contributing to the development and implementation of the FLC’s objectives and planning.
- Contributing to the establishment and maintenance of a supportive school environment.
- Supporting staff in providing resources for activities/programs for young people.
- Assisting Teachers/Youth Workers with the supervision of young people on excursions, sports day and other classroom activities.
- Working collaboratively with staff to provide a safe, conductive work environment; and
- Operate within the context of ERAFSN Policies and Procedures.

ABOUT YOU
- Understanding of and commitment to the values of a Catholic educational system of schools in the Edmund Rice tradition.
- A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience with disenfranchised youth, in an education setting – essential.
- DHS Working with Children Clearance.
- Catholic Police Clearance – granted by the Screening & Verification Authority – Catholic Archdiocese of Adelaide.
- A current unrestricted driver’s licence.
- Knowledge of the causes of educational disengagement and barriers young people in the region face in achieving a year 12 or equivalent qualification.
- Ability to role model and provide a positive influence for all young people.
- Capacity to establish and maintain effective interpersonal relationships with staff at all levels and to work as a team member to achieve positive outcomes.
- Ability to work with a wide range of industry stakeholders.
- Willingness to undertake professional development and to pursue continuous improvement.
- Organised and able to work independently to achieve the goals of the role.
- Capacity to work within timelines and to complete assigned tasks within set timeframe.
- Ability to maintain organisational confidentiality; and
- Good level of IT skills.
