ABOUT US:
Edmund Rice Education Australia (EREA) Flexible Schools Ltd currently educates over 2,700 young people in 22 Flexible Learning Schools (12 based in Queensland and 10 other schools across Australia) and two Special Education Services Schools in NSW, with approximately 800 staff nationally. Flexi schools serve young people who experience complex educational, social or psychological situations which demand unique responses. They enable young people to engage in education in a supported learning environment through a methodology based on trauma informed practice, to co-create a Common Ground using Operation by Principles, in which the principles of Honesty, Respect, Participation, Safe & Legal are embedded. Our special schools serve young people with mild to moderate intellectual disabilities.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
The IT Service Desk Officer plays an important role in ensuring that IT services are delivered in a sustainable and timely manner. The role is focussed on the delivery of systems and underlying infrastructure being reliable, secure, and aligned with Flexible Schools’ goals and policies. The IT Service Desk Officer is required to model and deliver best IT Services administration practice; maintain compliance with IT standards, policies, and procedures; and provide advice on existing and emerging IT needs and practice among users.
The IT Service Desk Officer reports to the IT Services Manager and is a member of the IT Services Team. The IT Services Team consists of the IT Services Manager, administrators, and support staff that work in conjunction with the IT Solutions Team to form the complete Flexi IT Team. The Flexi IT Team is led by the Director of IT.

KEY ATTRIBUTES AND EXPERIENCE:
- Understanding of and commitment to the values of a Catholic educational system of schools in the Edmund Rice tradition.
- Familiarity with education sector IT requirements and best practice is desirable.
- Demonstrated capacity to be a reliable organiser in IT services and practice.
- Able to demonstrate the high-level communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills necessary to be successful in a complex and layered organisational structure.
- Organisational and administrative capacity to fulfil the functions of the role and to support the IT Services Manager.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Ability to diagnose problems, foresee potential issues and devise appropriate responses.
- Ability to develop collaboration, trust and confidence through listening, effective communication, and humility.
Qualifications
- Appropriate qualifications and relevant professional experience:
- A vocational qualification, or degree, in information technology or information systems from a recognised tertiary institution, or other relevant qualification, would be well regarded.
- Relevant industry qualifications in IT service delivery and/or IT service frameworks (e.g., Information Technology Infrastructure Library) would be well regarded.
