ABOUT US
Edmund Rice Education Australia (EREA) Flexible Schools Ltd currently educates over 2,700 young people in 22 Flexible Learning Schools (12 based in Queensland and 10 other schools across Australia) and two Special Education Services Schools in NSW, with approximately 800 staff nationally. Flexi schools serve young people who experience complex educational, social or psychological situations which demand unique responses. They enable young people to engage in education in a supported learning environment through a methodology based on trauma informed practice, to co-create a Common Ground using Operation by Principles, in which the principles of Honesty, Respect, Participation, Safe & Legal are embedded. Our special schools serve young people with mild to moderate intellectual disabilities.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The purpose of the National Injury Management and Workers Compensation Advisor role is to lead and coordinate end‑to‑end injury management and workers compensation processes across EREA Flexible Schools Ltd, ensuring injured team members receive timely, proactive support and are guided toward a safe, durable return to work.
The position provides expert advice and case management to ensure all injury, recovery, and claims‑related activities meet legislative requirements, insurer expectations, and organisational standards.

KEY ATTRIBUTES AND EXPERIENCE:
- Understanding of and commitment to the values of a Catholic educational system of schools in the Edmund Rice tradition.
- 2-5 years’ experience in injury management or workers compensation (ideally across multiple jurisdictions).
- Strong knowledge of workers compensation legislation across multiple jurisdictions.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with employees, managers, medical professionals, and insurers.
- Experience in developing return-to-work plans and driving early intervention strategies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail.
- Solid time management and organisational abilities with a proactive mindset.
- A commitment to continuous learning, inclusion, and safe work practices.
- Willingness to travel interstate to other school sites as required.
