ABOUT THE ORGANISATION:
EREA Flexible Schools Ltd is a company limited by guarantee established by the Member, TEREA (Trustees of Edmund Rice Education Australia) to lead and govern the Flexible Schools and Special Schools across all states and territories except the ACT and Victoria. EREA Flexible Schools Ltd is responsible for the strategic direction, financial management and legal obligations of each school. Strict line-of-sight governance arrangements must be in place.
Edmund Rice Education Australia (EREA) Flexible Schools Ltd currently educates over 2,400 young people in 23 Flexible Learning Schools and two Special Education Services Schools in NSW, with approximately 700 staff nationally. Our special schools serve young people with mild to moderate intellectual disabilities and our Flexi schools serve young people who experience complex educational, social or psychological situations which demand unique responses. They enable young people to engage in education in a supported learning environment through a methodology based on trauma informed practice, to co-create a Common Ground using Operation by Principles, in which the principles of Honesty, Respect, Participation, Safe & Legal are embedded.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
The Leader Compliance, Governance and Quality Assurance QLD/NT is responsible for ensuring the effective implementation, governance, monitoring and continuous improvement of compliance, risk, business operations and quality assurance frameworks across QLD/NT, acting under the direction of the Regional Directors CNQ and SEQ/NT. The role will work closely with the National Risk and Compliance team to embed national risk, compliance and policy initiatives across the region.
The Leader Compliance, Governance and Quality Assurance QLD/NT will provide specialised advice, guidance and leadership to Principals, school teams and Regional Directors on business operations, compliance and quality assurance frameworks. The role supports the operationalisation of organisational policies, national frameworks, quality management systems (QMS) and business processes. It monitors and guides schools to meet regulatory, legislative and accreditation requirements and ensures continuous improvement across business operations, reporting, data integrity and audit preparedness. The role will also work collaboratively with the Leader of Risk and Compliance QLD/NT to provide comprehensive support to the QLD/NT region.
This position operates across multiple schools and requires travel to support leaders in embedding consistent business operations, compliance practices and quality management systems. The role strengthens school capability in meeting regulatory, legislative and accreditation obligations while enhancing operational effectiveness.

ABOUT YOU:
- Understanding of and commitment to the values of a Catholic educational system of schools in the Edmund Rice tradition.
- Proven senior leadership experience, both strategic and operational, characterised by strong organisational, administrative, communication, and leadership skills, particularly in relation to areas outlined in this position.
- Able to demonstrate the high-level communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills necessary to be successful in a complex and layered organisational structure.
- Demonstrated capability in business operations, compliance, and quality assurance within an education context.
- Strong analytical, reporting and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to collaborate across complex organisational structures with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience developing and implementing frameworks, systems and processes that meet regulatory and compliance requirements.
- Experience training and mentoring staff in systems, procedures and quality standards.
- Qualifications in Business, Education, Quality Management, Compliance or related discipline.
