  • 20 hours per week - Monday to Friday 9am to 1pm (Flexible)
  • Salary: $80,098 pro rata  

 

ABOUT US

Edmund Rice Education Australia (EREA) Flexible Schools Ltd currently educates over 2,400 young people in 21 Flexible Learning Schools (12 based in Queensland and 9 other schools across Australia) and two Special Education Services Schools in NSW, with approximately 700 staff nationally. Flexi schools serve young people who experience complex educational, social or psychological situations which demand unique responses. They enable young people to engage in education in a supported learning environment through a methodology based on trauma informed practice, to co-create a Common Ground using Operation by Principles, in which the principles of Honesty, Respect, Participation, Safe & Legal are embedded. Our special schools serve young people with mild to moderate intellectual disabilities.

 

ABOUT THE ROLE

The RTO Trainer and Assessor is responsible for delivering engaging face-to-face and eLearning training to remote learners, creating innovative learning experiences and tailored support to meet their unique needs. They ensure all Trainer and Assessor requirements, RTO student management procedures, and RTO standards are met. The role may also include supervising trainers working under direction in remote locations, ensuring all activities comply with the Standards for RTOs. This role operates under the direction of the RTO Manager.

KEY ATTRIBUTES AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Understanding of and commitment to the values of a Catholic educational system of schools in the Edmund Rice tradition.  
  • Able to demonstrate the high-level communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills necessary to be successful in a complex and layered organisational structure. 
  • Adaptability and flexibility to deliver training in remote, online, and face-to-face environments 
  • Competency in using digital learning platforms and eLearning technologies, including implementing and managing eLearning systems. 
  • Creative and innovative in designing engaging learning centred training programs. 
  • Experience delivering assessment aligned with RTO and compliance Standards 
  • Organised, detail-oriented, and capable of maintaining accurate records for compliance 
  • Ability to diagnose problems, foresee potential issues and devise appropriate responses. 
  • Ability to lead, work in, and collaborate across teams with integrity and humility. 

 

Required Skills and Qualifications: 

  • Relevant qualification in Vocational Education and Training (VET) TAE40110/TAE40116/TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or equivalent. 
  • Bachelor of Education, Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma of Education, or higher. This may include qualifications relating to TESOL, adult education or vocational education. 
  • Technologically proficient with eLearning tools and learning management systems. 
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with and engage diverse learners, including First Nations and youth.  
  • Ability to design and develop engaging learning resources and programs. 
  • Familiarity with compliance requirements under the Standards for RTOs. 

 

Additional Information: 

  • The position may require minimal travel to schools for face-to-face training and support initiatives. 
  • There is capacity to negotiate flexible work arrangements while maintaining integrity of the role.
