EREA Flexible Schools Ltd is a company limited by guarantee established by the Member (EREA Ltd) to lead Flexible Schools and Special Schools in all states and territories except Victoria. EREA Flexible Schools Ltd is responsible for the strategic direction, financial management and legal obligations of each school.
EREA Flexible Schools Ltd currently educates over 2,000 young people in 21 Flexible Learning Schools (12 based in Queensland and 9 other schools across Australia) and two Special Education Services Schools in Sydney. Flexi schools serve young people who experience complex educational, social or psychological situations which demand unique responses. They enable young people to engage in education in a supported learning environment through a methodology based on trauma informed practice, to co-create a Common Ground using Operation by Principles, in which the principles of Honesty, Respect, Participation, Safe & Legal are embedded.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Regional Leader of Education – Pathways is responsible for regional leadership in the areas of a pedagogical focus on skills and supporting relevant pathways for young people and acts under the direction of the Regional Director for South Australia and Western Australia. The role will work in close collaboration with the Regional Director, Principals and Regional Leader of Learning and Pedagogy and also work under the influence of the National Educational Officer – Skills, Pathways and Advocacy.
The role will play a significant part in supporting the region and individual schools through the sharing of research, advice and strategies that support young people to develop the capabilities to enable relevant pathways. They will develop and sustain relationships with industry and training providers and participate in appropriate networks to further opportunities for young people.
Additionally, this role plays a vital role in supporting growth and development of both existing and new schools by actively applying for appropriate grants and developing documentation for registration requirements for new schools and ongoing audits for existing schools.
The role works directly to support schools in the region across both middle school and senior school phases and acts under the direction of Regional Director.

ABOUT YOU
- Understanding of and commitment to the values of a Catholic educational system of schools in the Edmund Rice tradition.
- Proven senior leadership experience, both strategic and operational, characterised by strong organisational, administrative, communication, and leadership skills, particularly in relation to areas outlined in this position.
- Previous experience in Vet partnerships for young people, and in liaison with external providers to facilitate many pathways for young people to achieve success.
- Able to demonstrate the high-level communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills necessary to be successful in a complex and layered organisational structure.
- Appropriate qualifications and relevant professional experience.
- Ability to diagnose problems, foresee potential issues and devise appropriate responses and able to collect and use data to improve outcomes for our young people
- Ability to lead, work in, and collaborate across teams with integrity and humility.
- Deep knowledge of the broad landscape of pathways, tertiary education and industry including the future of work
- Proven ability to build capacity of staff and efficacy in teams
- Working with Children Check required
- Expected travel 25% of the time, in particular interstate to Western Australia.
