- Salary: $86,988 - $90,330
ABOUT THE ORGANISATION
Edmund Rice Education Australia (EREA) Flexible Schools Ltd currently educates over 2,400 young people in 21 Flexible Learning Schools (12 based in Queensland and 9 other schools across Australia) and two Special Education Services Schools in NSW, with approximately 700 staff nationally. Flexi schools serve young people who experience complex educational, social or psychological situations which demand unique responses. They enable young people to engage in education in a supported learning environment through a methodology based on trauma informed practice, to co-create a Common Ground using Operation by Principles, in which the principles of Honesty, Respect, Participation, Safe & Legal are embedded.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Pathways Youth Support Worker reports to the Head of Campus and is responsible to the Area Principal. This is a new position in response to new programs being introduced in 2026. This role will be part of establishing a new initiative working alongside the program teacher and members of the leadership team.
The program aims to support Young People to become work ready, gain employment or transition into further vocational study. This role would suit a person who is patient, understands the impact trauma can have on learning and engagement, is enthusiastic about seeing young people succeed, has experience in VET or employment services, can implement unconditional positive regard.

ABOUT YOU
- Able to demonstrate the high-level communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills necessary to be successful in a complex and layered organisational structure.
- Be aware of contemporary changes within the outside world and the need to offer opportunities to enhance pathway options
- Have experience working with young people preparing for the world of work
- Have demonstrated experience working with disenfranchised youth
- Have demonstrated experience engaging youth with positive learning experiences
- Appropriate qualifications [Certificate IV in Youth or community service with a youth focus] and relevant professional experience and knowledge in developing and coordinating pathways programs for secondary aged young people
- Working knowledge of traineeships and apprenticeships
- Current unrestricted driver's licence (essential)
- Working with Children Clearance
- Experience in working with young people disenfranchised for mainstream education.
- Current First Aid qualification
